St. Joseph's Hospital, located in the center of Washington County at Highways 45 and PV, is a 70-bed, nonprofit, acute care community hospital and is a member of Froedtert & Community Health, a regional hospital system that includes Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee; Community Memorial Hospital, Menomonee Falls; and West Bend Clinic.

In this section, we'd like to share a little more about St. Joseph's Hospital with you. Our dedicated staff is proud to serve residents of West Bend and the greater Washington County area with high quality, personal and trusted care.

Who We Are

Serving residents of West Bend and Washington County, St. Joseph's Hospital offers a 24-hour Emergency Care Center including a state designated Level III Trauma Center. The hospital offers a New Life Center birthing center, Breast Care Program, cardiopulmonary rehab, general surgery, spine surgery, outpatient surgery, diagnostic services including a 64-slice CT, residential hospice care, sleep center, and cancer care including medical and radiation oncology.

West Bend is located in the center of Washington County, Wisconsin, at the junction of U.S. Highway 45 and State Highway 33. A growing, family-friendly community of 30,220, West Bend is less than an hour’s drive northwest of Milwaukee and a short distance from the scenic Kettle Moraine area to the north. St. Joseph's Hospital has served the Washington County community since 1930. In 2005, the hospital opened a new replacement facility at Highway 45 and Pleasant Valley Road. St. Joseph's Hospital had 4,200 acute admissions and 707 births in fiscal 2007. The hospital’s large, country campus also includes a prairie and walking trails, a medical building, and an eight-bed freestanding residential hospice facility, the Kathy Hospice, the first of its kind in the county. In 2008, St. Joseph's Hospital completed an affiliation with Froedtert & Community Health.

St. Joseph's is a member of Froedtert & Community Health, a regional hospital system that includes Froedtert Hospital, Community Memorial Hospital and the West Bend Clinic. Through our partnerships with these organizations, we are able to not only expand our services but also enhance coordination of care both locally and for patients who may need to travel for specialty care.

In 2005, as a direct response to patient demand and to further improve the quality of health care available in Washington County, St. Joseph’s opened a new 180,000 square-foot hospital building on a 143-acre site, located at 3200 Pleasant Valley Road in the Town of Polk.

The new hospital’s design focuses on implementing a high level of quality and patient safety. More than two dozen patient safety experts had input in the planning, along with nurses and other staff members, and helped translate quality and patient safety principles into the design of patient rooms and other features. The process and design have received national recognition.
