Inspired by the 1999 Institute of Medicine report, To Err is Human: Building a Safer Health System, physicians, nurses and professional staff are working together to improve patient safety and promote a patient-safe culture throughout the organization.
On August 7, 2005, the new St. Joseph's Hospital opened at 3200 Pleasant Valley Road in Washington County. The hospital was designed with quality care and patient safety in mind with the goal to create an environment for providing high quality, safe, patient-centered care. The facility has received national attention from health care and patient safety leaders for its innovative design process using guiding principles centered on quality and safety.
